~ Filo ~

Filo is an Italian word meaning “thread.

We have succeeded in creating expressive jewelry with a new sense of modernity by taking the traditional craft of Hirato zaiku, which has been handed down for 400 years, and creating it in 18k gold, which is more difficult to process.

What is Hirato-zaiku?

It is said that the origin of Hirato craftwork dates back to 1602 (Keicho 7), when silver wirework was introduced from the Netherlands to Hirato, Nagasaki, which was a trading port at that time.
It was also developed in the Akita clan, which had a close relationship with Japan, and is now designated as an intangible cultural asset of Akita.

Highly finished handmade jewelry created from ultra-fine wire

The entire process is done by hand and requires delicate and skilled techniques.
The extremely fine lines used are a characteristic of this product, and the finish is full of three-dimensionality.
Therefore, it is not unusual for production to take several days for large or complicated items, and it can be said that these items are highly rare.

Delicate and intricate modeling

Delicate patterns such as botanical motifs are expressed with Hirado craftsmanship.
These are artistic masterpieces born from outstanding techniques, and represent a new world of Hirado where tradition and sensibility are fused together.

~ Art Email ~

Art Emailles is the French word for cloisonne art!

Cloisonne jewelry is inspired by the beautiful colors of the changing seasons, plants, and natural scenery.
The charm of the soft, pale colors and the picturesque brilliance of these pieces give our hearts a sense of peace and healing.

Pre-cut enamel

Pre-cast enamel is used for the products of Art & Emailles.
The surface of the enameled area has no metal and is translucent like stained glass, allowing light to pass through.
This is a very advanced technique and is often seen in the works of Lalique and other artists of the Art Nouveau period.

A gem of elegant design and high quality materials

The “Art Nouveau line” is full of elegant colors with motifs of natural scenes, and the “Precious Stone line” is a perfect fusion of the luster of prestigious colored stones and the light colors of enamel.

The colors were layered many times to create a light-toned gradation.

Master Craftsman’s Ultra-thin Pure Gold Technique

Each piece of jewelry is handmade with ultra-thin pure gold of only 0.2 mm.
The unevenness of the surface is all done by hand, so no two pieces of jewelry are exactly the same.
This is a unique technique that has succeeded in reducing weight while creating volume.
It is a versatile item that can be worn with thin clothes.

Some surfaces are matte, while others are mirror-finished.
Each is a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry that is all different in its shading.

~ Chains ~

Chain necklaces made from skilled craftsmanship

Pure gold and pure platinum are very soft and difficult to commercialize, so they are rarely seen in jewelry stores.
However, all parts of Hanabusa Kogei’s chain necklaces are handmade and laser-welded one by one, making them pure gold and pure platinum necklaces.
By handcrafting several parts of different sizes and shapes and carefully assembling them frame by frame with a laser, a delicate and graceful necklace is completed with a volume at the top that cannot be imitated by machine chain necklaces.

This is a handmade chain that takes a lot of time and effort.
In addition to necklaces, bracelets, earrings and pierced earrings are also available.

~ Eternity Rings ~

Forged eternity rings made to order

We often hear people say that they cannot use eternity rings on a daily basis because they are worried about the diamond.
Diamonds may move unsteadily, or you may find that you have lost a diamond.

One of the reasons for the malfunction of eternity rings is that the claws that hold the diamond in place are soft and can loosen with even the slightest impact.
The casting method, which is used for more than 90% of eternity rings in widespread use, allows mass production and cost reduction, but it also dulls and softens the ingots when they are melted and poured into a mold.

On the other hand, the forging process, in which the ingots are beaten and forged, keeps the ingots hard and the claws that hold the diamonds in place firm.
The finished ring itself is also hard and resistant to distortion and scratches, making it ideal for eternity rings.

At Hanabusa Kogei, each ring is made to order according to the customer’s needs in terms of materials (18k gold or platinum) and the size of the diamonds.

In addition to a wide variety of designs to choose from, we also offer full customization.
We can create full eternity, half eternity, etc. according to your wishes.

~ Bridal ~

Forged wedding band made to order

At first glance, this is a simple round wedding band, but in fact, the sides are decorated with very small and fine round milgrains.

In addition to the common round milgrain, Hanabusa Kogei can also apply a heart or star shape by using special techniques.

The forging method is used in the manufacturing process.
In the case of the casting method, which is widely used, the surface of the metal is softer and more easily roughened, and the milgrain will disappear if the metal is polished thoroughly.

On the other hand, with the forging process, the metal is hard but the surface is smoother, so it can withstand polishing and the milgrain will remain beautiful.

At Hanabusa Kogei, each piece of jewelry is made to order according to the customer’s needs, including materials such as 18-karat gold or platinum and whether or not diamonds are to be used.
